The electricity account is 4 months behind. Madeline received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless $650 is paid. She had never been late before an unexpected car repair.
Madeline called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $155 first, which isn't available.
The household includes three children under ten, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
Madeline is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Madeline's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
