Electricity shut-off notice: help Jadwiga pay $250

Jadwiga is behind on electricity bills after losing my job in March and needs $250 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless I pay $250. I have never been late before losing my job in March. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $30 first, which I don't have. I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $250 goes: • Heating arrears: $135 • Reconnection and late fees: $40 • Down payment on a payment plan: $75 I hope life is good to you.

    • is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Jadwiga.

      • Heating arrears is $135 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.

    • Keep going. Looking forward to the next update. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Kraków.
