The electricity account is 4 months behind. Charmaine received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in August. Charmaine called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available. The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. Charmaine is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Charmaine's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $150 goes: • Heating arrears: $80 • Reconnection and late fees: $25 • Down payment on a payment plan: $45 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Cesar
