The electricity account is 2 months behind. Binita received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on March unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before a reduction in hours. Binita called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $15 first, which isn't available. The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home. Binita is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $100 goes: • Heating arrears: $55 • Reconnection and late fees: $25 • Down payment on a payment plan: $20 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure. - Rita
