Electricity and water shut-off notice: help Latoya pay $150
A disconnection notice for electricity and water arrived and Latoya needs $150 before November.

The electricity and water account is 3 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless I pay $150. I have never been late before a reduction in hours.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have.
I live with a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through summer without electricity and water isn't safe. We can't cook, keep medicine cold or heat the home.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $150 goes:
• Gas arrears: $95
• Reconnection and late fees: $20
• Down payment on a payment plan: $35
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Latoya.
It's all in the list in the story. gas arrears is the big one at $95, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
Hope things get better soon, Latoya. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together
Hang in there. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. God bless.
hope things get better soon. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. We're a small family in Port Harcourt but we're thinking of you. God bless.
Thanks for sharing this. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
Thinking of you and your family, Latoya. Shared this with my family. Sent it to 9 people at work!
