Earthquake in Istanbul: help Northside village rebuild
The earthquake damaged 23 homes in Northside village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The earthquake hit Northside village on 1 September. My home was one of 23 damaged, and 14 families are still in temporary shelter at a borrowed warehouse.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $165
• Food parcels for displaced families: $490
• Tools and labor for repairs: $345

Quick update: $210 raised so far (21%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($140 in total) the plan for bedding, blankets and mattresses is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
