Douglas needs a gas stove and two refrigerators to reopen a street-food cart
A street-food cart in Peoria needs help replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators after a fire in the building.

For six years I have run a street-food cart in Peoria. In July, a fire in the building took a gas stove and two refrigerators. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Wednesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 12 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $3,800 goes:
• Shop repairs and licensing: $530
• Initial stock: ingredients: $480
• Replacing a gas stove and two refrigerators: $2,790
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Good luck. Small businesses are the heart of Peoria. Hope you're open again soon. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money!
Stay strong, Douglas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. God bless.
