I coordinate donations at Jacaranda Refugee Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Newcastle upon Tyne, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Jacaranda Refugee Centre on Friday between 11am and 3pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the Jacaranda Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • it takes guts to ask. Well done. Put this on a community board in Southampton this morning. Thinking of Newcastle upon Tyne.

    • Wishing you peace. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. All the best

      • Praying for you. I hope things turn around soon. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Albany
