The heating account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless I pay $100. I have never been late before a reduction in hours.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which I don't have.
I live with an elderly mother, and going through the cold months without heating isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $100 goes:
• Gas arrears: $65
• Reconnection and late fees: $25
• Down payment on a payment plan: $10
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Hope it all works out, Venkat. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Take care.
I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. Greetings from Faisalabad.
Rooting for you, Venkat. Shared it with a few friends. Don't give up. Blessings.
Good luck, Venkat. Your post was clear and honest. My husband and I read this together
Sending good thoughts. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
