The water account is 4 months behind. Sofía received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $850 is paid. She had never been late before my partner leaving the household.
Sofía called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $125 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a disabled brother, and going through the rainy season without water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Sofían is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Sofía's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
