The electricity and water account is 2 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on February unless I pay $150. I have never been late before losing my job in December. I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $25 first, which I don't have. I live with an elderly mother, and going through the cold months without electricity and water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home. I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $150 goes: • Gas arrears: $80 • Reconnection and late fees: $25 • Down payment on a payment plan: $45 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
