The electricity account is 3 months behind. Ruby received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $900 is paid. She had never been late before July's medical emergency.
Ruby called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $95 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Ruby is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Ruby's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
