Don't let Kwaku's family go through summer without electricity
Kwaku is behind on electricity bills after a reduction in hours and needs $100 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless I pay $100. I have never been late before a reduction in hours.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $30 first, which I don't have.
I live with a newborn, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.
Where the $100 goes:
• Water arrears: $50
• Reconnection and late fees: $25
• Down payment on a payment plan: $25
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thinking of you, Kwaku. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Obuasi.
hope things get better soon, Kwaku. Hope you get there. I'm in hospitality myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
Sending good thoughts. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Hobart.
