The heating account is 3 months behind. Ethan received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $700 is paid. He had never been late before a reduction in hours. Ethan called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $120 first, which isn't available. The household includes a newborn, and going through summer without heating isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. Ethan is working on getting back on his feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here. Where the $700 goes: • Electricity arrears: $400 • Reconnection and late fees: $175 • Down payment on a payment plan: $125 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
