Don't let Brigitte's family go through summer without electricity

Brigitte is behind on electricity bills after August's medical emergency and needs $700 to avoid a shut-off.

The electricity account is 4 months behind. Brigitte received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on October unless $700 is paid. She had never been late before August's medical emergency. Brigitte called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $120 first, which isn't available. The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through summer without electricity isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature. Brigitte is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady. Every dollar goes to the account in Brigitte's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates. Where the $700 goes: โ€ข Water arrears: $520 โ€ข Reconnection and late fees: $85 โ€ข Down payment on a payment plan: $95 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
