Dinesh is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in civil engineering at the Jodhpur Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has said Dinesh can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Dinesh has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Dinesh would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Dinesh isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Jodhpur Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $330
• Exam and lab fees: $15
• Final term tuition: $305
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
