Dignity in old age: caring for Vikas
Help Vikas stay in his own home with six months of part-time care.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India1,100 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 89. After a diagnosis of dementia Vikas can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Vikas desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Vikas worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $800 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $590
• Medication and prescriptions: $120
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $60
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
