Dignity in old age: caring for Tomás
Help Tomás stay in his own home with eight months of part-time care.

I'm caring for my father, who's 86. After a stroke last June Tomás can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Tomás desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Tomás worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60
• Medication and prescriptions: $195
• Part-time carer (eight months): $1,445
With deep gratitude,
Ángel
