Dignity in old age: caring for Thảo
Help Thảo stay in her own home with six months of part-time care.
🇻🇳 Cầu Giấy, Hanoi, Vietnam1,235 views
I'm caring for my mother, who's 78. After worsening Parkinson's disease Thảo can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Thảo desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Thảo worked all of her life as a seamstress, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $600 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $75
• Medication and prescriptions: $140
• Part-time carer (six months): $385
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
