Dignity in old age: caring for Takeshi
Help Takeshi stay in his own home with four months of part-time care.
🇯🇵 Japan1,223 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 94. After the death of his spouse Takeshi can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Takeshi desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Takeshi worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $2,950 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $280
• Part-time carer (four months): $2,400
• Medication and prescriptions: $270
With deep gratitude,
Megumi
