Dignity in old age: caring for Soledad
Soledad can't afford the care She needs after the death of her spouse; we're asking for $1,000.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 84. After the death of her spouse Soledad can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Soledad desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Soledad worked all of her life as a seamstress, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $620
• Medication and prescriptions: $220
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $80
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $80
