Dignity in old age: caring for Snehal
Snehal, 79, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $950 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 79. After a stroke last August Snehal can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Snehal desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Snehal worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $950 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $780
• Medication and prescriptions: $55
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $45
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70
I hope life is good to you.

reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Lahore!
