Dignity in old age: caring for Silvia
Silvia can't afford the care She needs after a diagnosis of dementia; we're asking for $1,250.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 82. After a diagnosis of dementia Silvia can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Silvia desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Silvia worked all of her life as a carpenter, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $660
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $430
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $160
Thank you so much.
