Dignity in old age: caring for Selin
Selin, 79, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,500 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for me, who's 79. After the death of her spouse Selin can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Selin desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Selin worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $170
• Part-time carer (six months): $1,200
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $130
