Dignity in old age: caring for Qasim
Qasim cannot afford the care He needs after a diagnosis of dementia; we are asking for $450.

I'm caring for my father, who's 74. After a diagnosis of dementia Qasim can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Qasim desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Qasim worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $450 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $250
• Medication and prescriptions: $75
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $50
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75

Wishing you peace, Hina. Shared this with my family. Blessings.
Sending love. Get well soon. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Mobile so I could bring a meal
