I'm caring for my mother, who's 95. After the death of her spouse Pranjal can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Pranjal desperately wants to stay at home. I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Pranjal worked all of her life as a farmer, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $700 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $470 • Medication and prescriptions: $100 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Purvi

Updates from Purvi

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 7% funded and I made the first payment toward mobility aids and bathroom adaptations.

  2. We're at 10% thanks to 2 of you. I made the first payment toward medication and prescriptions. More news soon.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($50 in total) I met with the care agency and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  • Take care, Purvi. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. After 17 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best
