Dignity in old age: caring for Pimchanok
Pimchanok, 94, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,200 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 94. After a fall and hip fracture Pimchanok can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Pimchanok desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Pimchanok worked all of her life as a seamstress, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $820
• Medication and prescriptions: $150
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $80
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $150
