Dignity in old age: caring for Patricia
Patricia, 93, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $2,350 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 93. After a heart attack Patricia can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Patricia desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Patricia worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $1,700
• Medication and prescriptions: $250
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $400
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Take care, Lourdes. Shared it with a few friends. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
You're not alone, Lourdes. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking
Hope it all works out, Lourdes. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Love from Dublin.
Shared this with my family. Greetings from Kraków.
Stay strong, Lourdes. This could happen to any of us. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings
