Dignity in old age: caring for Orville

I'm caring for me, who's 95. After a fall and hip fracture Orville can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Orville desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Orville worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $1,350
• Medication and prescriptions: $190
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $90
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70
