Dignity in old age: caring for Orlando
Help Orlando stay in his own home with eight months of part-time care.
🇵🇭 Philippines1,325 views
I'm caring for me, who's 88. After a heart attack Orlando can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Orlando desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Orlando worked all of his life as a seamstress, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $500 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $35
• Medication and prescriptions: $95
• Part-time carer (eight months): $370
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Orlando
Thank you all. We're at 25% now ($124). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward part-time carer.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 25% funded and I met with the care agency and confirmed the amounts.
2% there. I met with the care agency and confirmed the amounts. Thank you.
