Dignity in old age: caring for Olivia
Help Olivia stay in her own home with four months of part-time care.
🇦🇺 New South Wales, Australia972 views
I'm caring for my mother, who's 74. After a heart attack Olivia can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Olivia desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Olivia worked all of her life as a farmer, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $330
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $590
• Medication and prescriptions: $530
Thanks for reading all this.

keep going, Carter. This could happen to any of us. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
you're not alone. This could happen to any of us. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
Get well soon. My neighbor in Catania donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Newcastle
You're not alone. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 9 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Epe.
Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Glasgow
