Dignity in old age: caring for Oleg
Oleg, 75, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,050 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for me, who's 75. After a heart attack Oleg can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Oleg desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Oleg worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $670
• Medication and prescriptions: $175
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $90
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $115
Thanks for being kind about this.

Stay strong. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. After 23 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Kharkiv.
You're not alone. Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Toronto but we're thinking of you. Blessings
Hope the doctors have good news. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care!
