Dignity in old age: caring for Musyoka
Musyoka can't afford the care He needs after a heart attack; we're asking for $950.

I'm caring for my father, who's 92. After a heart attack Musyoka can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Musyoka desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Musyoka worked all of his life as a bus driver, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $950 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $690
• Medication and prescriptions: $115
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $55
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $90

I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless!
You're not alone, Wangari. Shared this with my family
Thinking of you, Wangari. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
