Mahesh, 74, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $800 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 74. After a heart attack Mahesh can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Mahesh desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Mahesh worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $800 goes:
• Part-time carer (four months): $530
• Medication and prescriptions: $80
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $65
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $125
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
