Dignity in old age: caring for Lincoln
Lincoln can't afford the care He needs after worsening Parkinson's disease; we're asking for $5,950.

I'm caring for me, who's 90. After worsening Parkinson's disease Lincoln can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Lincoln desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Lincoln worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $5,950 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $4,700
• Medication and prescriptions: $590
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $185
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $475
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

is there anything that isn't money that would help Lincoln?
Thank you. If you're in Toledo I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Ask me anything else.
Wishing you peace, Lincoln. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Jakarta Barat!
Hope the doctors have good news. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Montego Bay.
Best of luck. Wishing Lincoln a smooth procedure and a full recovery. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings
Sending love. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My neighbor in Leicester donated after I showed her your page. Take care.
Your post was clear and honest. Love from Coyoacán.
