Dignity in old age: caring for Lidia
Help Lidia stay in her own home with six months of part-time care.

I'm caring for me, who's 81. After a stroke last June Lidia can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Lidia desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Lidia worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $250 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $120
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70
Thanks for reading all this.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($148 in total) I made the first payment toward medication and prescriptions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lidia
Sure. The biggest one is medication and prescriptions, $120. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Thanks for looking so closely.
