Dignity in old age: caring for Kwesi
Help Kwesi stay in his own home with three months of part-time care.
🇬🇭 Ghana1,540 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 80. After a diagnosis of dementia Kwesi can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Kwesi desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Kwesi worked all of his life as a bus driver, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $850 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $590
• Medication and prescriptions: $115
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $40
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $105
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

rooting for you, Comfort. This could happen to any of us. We're a small family in Belfast but we're thinking of you. Thinking of Accra.
