Dignity in old age: caring for Kannan
Help Kannan stay in his own home with four months of part-time care.
Anywhere in the world140 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 81. After a fall and hip fracture Kannan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Kannan desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Kannan worked all of his life as a farmer, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $250 goes:
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $75
• Medication and prescriptions: $120
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $55
Every share and every dollar helps.

Best of luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Philadelphia so I could bring a meal. All the best.
