Dignity in old age: caring for Jyoti
Jyoti can't afford the care She needs after worsening Parkinson's disease; we're asking for $800.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 83. After worsening Parkinson's disease Jyoti can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Jyoti desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Jyoti worked all of her life as a nurse, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $800 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $30
• Part-time carer (eight months): $700
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Keep going, Usha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Regensburg
