Dignity in old age: caring for Jonathan
Jonathan, 91, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $6,700 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 91. After worsening Parkinson's disease Jonathan can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Jonathan desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Jonathan worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $6,700 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $5,000
• Medication and prescriptions: $910
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $165
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $625
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Thinking of you and your family. Shared this with my family. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Take care!
Stay strong, Angela. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 28 people at work. All the best.
