Dignity in old age: caring for Itzel
Itzel can't afford the care She needs after worsening Parkinson's disease; we're asking for $1,500.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 75. After worsening Parkinson's disease Itzel can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Itzel desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Itzel worked all of her life as a schoolteacher, and raised 5 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $85
• Part-time carer (eight months): $1,200
• Medication and prescriptions: $215
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
