I'm caring for my father, who's 96. After a heart attack Isaiah can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Isaiah desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Isaiah worked all of his life as a nurse, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $4,650 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $3,150
• Medication and prescriptions: $590
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $500
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $410
