I'm caring for my father, who's 82. After the death of his spouse Isaac can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Isaac desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Isaac worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $3,750 goes: β€’ Part-time carer (three months): $2,350 β€’ Medication and prescriptions: $560 β€’ Hospital bed and mattress rental: $350 β€’ Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $490 Glad we found this place.

  • hope it all works out. Shared it with a few friends. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Augusta.

    • Rooting for you. Wishing Isaac a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.

      • so sorry you're going through this, Brooks. Your post was clear and honest.
