Dignity in old age: caring for Hendrik
Hendrik can't afford the care He needs after a diagnosis of dementia; we're asking for $400.

I'm caring for me, who's 78. After a diagnosis of dementia Hendrik can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Hendrik desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Hendrik worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $400 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $70
• Medication and prescriptions: $140
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $190
Thanks for reading all this.
