Dignity in old age: caring for Do-yoon
Do-yoon, 75, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $2,150 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 75. After worsening Parkinson's disease Do-yoon can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Do-yoon desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Do-yoon worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.

• Part-time carer (six months): $1,150
• Medication and prescriptions: $470
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $240
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $290
