Dignity in old age: caring for David
David can't afford the care He needs after the death of his spouse; we're asking for $4,800.

I'm caring for me, who's 80. After the death of his spouse David can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and David desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
David worked all of his life as a schoolteacher, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $4,800 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $3,200
• Medication and prescriptions: $660
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $420
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $520
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

you're not alone, David. Wishing David a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't give up. Take care.
Take care. Wishing David a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My neighbor in Halifax donated after I showed her your page
Thinking of you. Shared it with a few friends. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Blessings.
Rooting for you, David. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected
Take care. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Greetings from Radom.
Hang in there. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it
