Dignity in old age: caring for Craig
Craig, 93, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,200 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my father, who's 93. After a stroke last September Craig can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Craig desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Craig worked all of his life as a seamstress, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Medication and prescriptions: $220
• Part-time carer (four months): $850
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $130
