I'm caring for my mother, who's 77. After a stroke last November Bola can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Bola desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Bola worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $800 goes:
• Part-time carer (six months): $630
• Medication and prescriptions: $55
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $55

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Bola.
Sure. The biggest one is part-time carer (six months), $630. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
