Dignity in old age: caring for Aravind
Help Aravind stay in his own home with three months of part-time care.
🇮🇳 Maharashtra, India1,204 views
I'm caring for my father, who's 82. After a fall and hip fracture Aravind can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Aravind desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 25 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Aravind worked all of his life as a carpenter, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $200 goes:
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $75
• Medication and prescriptions: $75
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $50
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
