Dignity in old age: caring for Amira
Amira, 81, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $500 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for my mother, who's 81. After a fall and hip fracture Amira can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Amira desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Amira worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $500 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $340
• Medication and prescriptions: $55
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $35
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $70
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Amira?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about part-time carer (eight months), advice is welcome too. Ask me anything else.
you're not alone, Waleed. Gave what I could, wish it was more. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Palmira!
Praying for you, Waleed. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best
